RCN president Cecilia Anim awarded honorary doctorate

RCN president Cecilia Anim has spoken of her ‘great honour’ at receiving an honorary doctorate for health from the University of Bradford.

She was presented with the honour during a ceremony on 14 July.
The Ghanaian-born midwife, who qualified as a nurse in the UK, works as a clinical specialist in sexual health at the Margaret Pyke Centre in London.
‘I feel greatly honoured to have received this accolade from the university,' she said.
‘For me, it is for nurses and nursing, for what we do to be recognised and valued.
‘I have used my presidency to champion the cause of the voiceless. Sincere thanks to my family for supporting me.’
