Nurses past and present are being encouraged to share their stories and memorabilia for an online project charting the history of the NHS.

The People's History of the NHS is an online museum where staff and patients can post memories of their connection to the health service.

The website also contains images of nursing through the decades, including cartoons from the 1950s, and photographs of nurses who were part of the Medical Campaign Against Nuclear Weapons in the 1980s (pictured).

Nurses and members of the public are invited to bring along NHS-related items from baby tags and NHS glasses to false teeth to an event at the Peoples History Museum in Manchester on 11 August.
