Panel talks

Our panel discussions with audience participation were introduced this year to help you get the most out of your career. By sharing their combined nursing knowledge, our speakers aim to enhance your job application success, help you consider how to climb the career ladder, look at what employing organisations really want from nurses and the challenges currently facing nurse recruitment.

Speakers at this panel event include head of nursing and allied health professionals at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Rachael Marsh, assistant director of nursing at North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Nichole Mackintosh and RCNi editorial director Graham Scott.

Making the most of your visit

Here are some top tips to help you maximise the opportunities available at the event:

Bring your CV

Bring plenty of copies of your up-to-date CV and any other documents you may want to give to potential employers.

Be prepared for interview

Many organisations will be interviewing and offering jobs on the day. Prior to the event, it is a good idea to research questions you may be asked at interview and visit the websites of organisations you are interested in working for.

Plan who you want to meet

Exhibiting employers include NHS trusts, agencies, care homes, and armed forces recruiters. Check out our exhibitor list online and on the day so you can make a beeline for those at the top of your list.

Familiarise yourself with the timetable

From preceptorship to emotional resilience, our workshops and seminars cover a range of topics. Looking at the programme in advance will help you decide which sessions you want to attend, and don’t forget to pick up your certificate after the sessions to get your CPD hours.

Dress to impress

Plan your outfit as you would for a job interview. First impressions count, and we want you to get the most out of the day.

Don’t be afraid to speak to everyone

Whether you are looking for a new job or want to advance you career, speak to as many people as possible and ask questions to ensure you get all the information you need.

The learning zone

Plan your route and arrive early

Seminars and workshops can get very busy, so try and arrive as early as possible. Plan your route to the venue and allow plenty of time to look around the exhibition.

Be the best version of yourself

This is your chance to shine, so be confident and proud of what you do. Your dream job could be just around the corner.

Learning Zone

In our interactive learning zone, use our iPads to undertake online nursing courses on a variety of subjects.

CPD-accredited, these count towards your CPD requirements for revalidation and if you sign up on the day, you will receive a week’s free access to RCNi eLearning.
