A new-look website to suit your needs

Enhanced websites and a new app accompany the launch of our new, monthly Nursing Standard, which offers more of the content you want

The first, new-look monthly edition of Nursing Standard is out this week. We have made significant changes to the way the journal is put together, with the aim of ensuring that you can easily access the content most relevant to you.

Every year we ask current and prospective readers what they do and don’t like, and former subscribers why they decided to cancel. Recently two themes have emerged. Many people said the print magazine was arriving too frequently, with the next edition dropping on doormats before they had finished with the previous issue. Others said some of the content was not relevant enough to their practice.

Personalised content and a new app

We have taken this on the chin and come up with a new approach. Online, we have enhanced our websites to recommend personalised content to you based on previous browsing sessions. You also have the ability to save favourite articles, perfect for research.

We have also developed an app to keep you up to date with our news, and to deliver the latest clinical updates and information on key subject areas such as communication and pay.

In print, we’ll focus on the subjects that have the broadest appeal to the widest possible audience, while continuing to deliver in-depth analysis and comment on the latest news, features highlighting best practice, and peer-reviewed clinical content.

Tell us what you think

This month we focus on communication, medicines, end of life care and critical care. In the May issue you can look forward to sections on nurse-led innovation, leadership, cardiology and continence. If there’s a subject you would like us to cover, let me know.

We want you to make the most of your subscription, so please register online, sign up for our daily e-alert and use the RCNi Portfolio, the easy way of tracking your progress with revalidation.

I hope you enjoy our improved websites, Nursing Standard app and the new-look print journal.
