Managers using FtP as a weapon: nurses punished for speaking out
Nurse whistleblowers say the Nursing and Midwifery Council fitness to practise process is being weaponised by NHS managers to target and punish those who speak out and raise concerns. Some are left jobless, traumatised and in financial difficulty due to unjust referrals. Individuals tell Nursing Standard that after raising concerns about patient safety, bullying and unsafe staffing levels at their workplace, they were singled out and unfairly referred to the regulator for investigation.
