I was one of the first patients in our local community to receive intravenous antibiotics for an acute foot infection.

The treatment I received from community nurse Suren Beebakhy, part of the Integrated Response and Intervention Service for Tameside and Glossop, was of the highest possible standard. It shows he is a very special practitioner indeed.

His technical expertise and constant reassurance were exemplary to the point of being humbling, and I am particularly appreciative that such a skilled practitioner was able to offer their services in my home.

There is something about Mr Beebakhy, in addition to his compassionate care and clinical skill, that is difficult to articulate. He has a warm, almost spiritual presence that is unique.

Exceptional care

Mr Beebakhy is a consummate professional who was able to allay the anxiety I was experiencing by engendering professional trust and confidence. His work is an example of best practice to all working in healthcare.

I know that the NHS is subject to some unfair criticism by the media and public. The excellent work of Mr Beebakhy in no small way goes to redressing the balance.

I have considerable experience of working with specialist and community nurses, as my wife is in the advanced stages of Parkinson's disease. Many of these nurses have been excellent, but even compared to these dedicated professionals, Mr Beebakhy stands out as exceptional.

I feel particularly privileged to have been treated by him and am extremely grateful for the level of care I received.
