No more paid breaks: nurses to be balloted on industrial action
Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s proposal to end paid breaks and introduce longer ones has left nurses feeling ‘devalued and demoralised’, and GMB union members affected at the trust are to be consulted on industrial action. The union claims bosses have threatened workers with ‘fire and rehire’ if they reject the change.
