NMC’s worsening performance: what are nurses paying for?

The Nursing and Midwifery Council’s performance deteriorated in 2025, according to its own regulator. The Professional Standands Authority now wants the NMC to be more open about its handling of nurse registrants’ fitness to practise cases as a nursing leader says registrants are running out of patience with their regulator.
