The former midwife and director of nursing at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, who has been in post since 2010, said: ‘After seven years and with a settled strategy in place, now is a good time to hand over the reins.

Job is a privilege

‘It has been my privilege and pleasure to lead such a prestigious organisation. I am immensely proud of our achievements in increasing our scholarships and programmes, giving voice to the work of our scholars and our network of Florence Nightingale Foundation chairs, who across the UK form a virtual faculty of expert researchers in practice.’

Professor Robb, who was made an OBE for services to nursing and midwifery in 2015, has indicated she intends to continue contributing to the profession in some capacity.
