There are just a few days left to enter the RCNi Nurse Awards 2018, the profession's top accolade

The awards celebrate nursing excellence, offering nurses, midwives, health visitors, students and support workers a chance to nominate a colleague or team for their outstanding contribution to care, or share their own excellent practice.

The deadline for entries is February 23. With a wide range of categories, entrants have an opportunity to celebrate and share exceptional work and innovative ideas whatever their specialty. 

Award categories

The 14 award categories include:

  • Andrew Parker Student Nurse Award
  • Cancer Nursing Practice Award
  • Child Health Award
  • Commitment to Carers Award
  • Community Nursing Award
  • Emergency Nurse Award
  • Excellence in Cancer Research Award
  • Healthcare Assistant Award
  • Innovations in your Specialty Award
  • Leadership Award
  • Learning Disability Nursing Award
  • Mental Health Practice Award
  • Nursing Older People Award
  • Patients' Choice Award

Previous finalists

Previous finalists have spoken of how their experience boosted their career, enabled them to share best practice to benefit patients or gave them confidence and momentum to push forward with their work. 

It has also helped nurses raise the profile of the particular needs of their patient group.

ENTER THE AWARDS HERE

A panel of specialist judges will select a shortlist of five finalists per category, all will be invited to the awards ceremony at the Westminster Park Plaza hotel, London, on July 4.

The RCN Nurse of the Year, chosen from all the category winners, will be announced on the the night. The winner of the Patients' Choice Award will be decided by a public vote.

Celebration of the profession

Jodie Deards, winner of the 2017 NHS England sponsored Commitment to Carers award, says: 'When the day of the ceremony arrived I felt proud to be in a room with so many exceptional nurses and leaders within our profession.

'It was a celebration of the entire profession and made you so proud to be a nurse.'
