A body has been found in connection with the search for missing nursing assistant Petra Srncova, police have said.

Officers were called to Brunswick Park, in Camberwell, London, close to where the 32 year old was last seen, just before lunchtime on 12 December, following a call from a member of the public.

Circumstances are not suspicious

The death is being treated as unexplained, but initial enquiries suggest the circumstances are not suspicious, Metropolitan Police said.

‘While formal identification awaits, Petra’s family have been informed of this development,’ a police spokesperson added.

Ms Srncova was last seen at about 8.22pm on 28 November in the Camberwell area after taking two buses there from her place of work at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Man arrested, released on bail

She was reported missing by a concerned colleague on 3 December.

A man arrested in connection with her disappearance was released on bail earlier on 12 December.

Labour MP for Camberwell Harriet Harman said on Saturday that Ms Srncova’s family were ‘desperately worried’.
