Nutrition nurse specialists support patients whose ability to maintain their nutritional intake through eating and drinking is compromised. This may mean the need for supported oral intake, enteral tube feeding, or the provision of parenteral nutrition.

The role of a nutrition nurse specialist is hugely diverse but our primary goal is to work with patients and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver appropriate and safe feeding in hospitals and at home, and ensure that those providing care have the necessary knowledge and skills.
