Advanced nurse practitioner: a typical day in emergency response

Following a day in the life of an advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) in primary and urgent care working for the Scottish Ambulance Service. ANPs work mostly on their own, but can call on colleagues for support. This band 7 role under Scotland’s Agenda for Change agreement is highly autonomous and requires high-level decision-making skills in the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with a variety of conditions.
