Becoming a nurse lecturer: what I learned in my first six months
Tips on making the transition from clinical practice to nurse academia, including how to gain relevant experience and managing imposter syndrome
What is your job and how long have you been in the role?
I am an assistant lecturer in nursing at a university and have been in my role for six months. I am currently teaching on the leadership module for first year nursing students in all fields.
The main sessions I teach are sexual health and diversity and inclusion, which has a focus on caring for transgender patients. I create the content for and deliver these sessions to nursing students.
