It was 2016 when I first came across the term ‘resilience’ in an International Council of Nurses document, Nurses: A Force for Change – Improving Health Systems’ Resilience .

Fast forward five years and resilience is a buzzword used across nursing and healthcare, not in relation to health systems but aimed at nurses in terms of a skill they need to survive and thrive in difficult situations.
