Why postural care is important in learning disability nursing

Postural care should be an important part of a learning disability nurse’s job. By supporting families and offering good postural care, nurses can help people with learning disabilities avoid body shape distortions and other associated health problems. However, the care system tends to see postural problems as inevitable rather than something that can be prevented or minimised.
