This book highlights the key aspects of paediatrics encountered in clinical areas and community settings. It is aimed at nurses and junior doctors, but its clear, easy-to-read format would make it a useful guide for nursing and medical students too.
I particularly liked the sections on common childhood conditions, which are written in a concise manner and can be used for quick reference by doctors, nurses and students.
The text is illustrated throughout by easy-to-follow diagrams, as well as medical photography that allows the reader to visualise how certain conditions would look in practice.
It is not easy to write a book about paediatrics and condense all the information effectively, but the authors have achieved this with Paediatrics at a Glance.
I qualified as a nurse 17 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book; it is a useful text that I intend to refer to in my practice. I would recommend the book to nurses, junior doctors and students.
