23 - 24 October 2024, ACC Liverpool
Register for updates about this unique nursing event and make a note in your diary to join us later in the year.
The answer to these questions and many more can be found at Nursing Live – a first-of-its-kind, free event run by RCNi, which will bring together thousands of nurses, nursing associates and nursing students for a two-day celebration of nursing.
Nurses can listen to expert talks and attend masterclasses
The inaugural event, on 10-11 November at the ACC in Liverpool, will feature more than 100 expert talks, clinical demonstrations and masterclasses for nursing professionals at every stage of their career, along with well-being sessions and a Compassion Café – a safe space where delegates can reflect, support colleagues and attend workshops on the emotional impact of nursing and dealing with the loss of a patient.
The packed student programme includes sessions on protecting your mental health, making a success of your clinical placements, the use of simulation in nurse education, collaborative learning in practice, and preparing to make the transition from expert student to newly registered professional.

Challenges in nurse education will also be explored, with issues such as placement expansion, approaches to supervision and achievement of proficiencies being discussed, while a panel talk on the cost of living crisis will provide a practical guide to financial management, including tips on saving money and how to access the financial support available to nurses and nursing students.
If you are a newly registered nurse, Florence Nightingale Foundation head of nursing and midwifery engagement Jess Sainsbury will be chairing sessions on revalidation and support for your continuing professional development (CPD), how to get the most out of preceptorship, and the value of support networks, coaches and mentors.
The Compassion Café will also be hosting a workshop where newly registered nurses can discuss their experiences in a safe space and get tips on how to settle into their new roles as staff nurses.
Learn about career opportunities and update your clinical knowledge
RCNi managing director Rachel Armitage says: ‘Nursing staff who attend will be able to discover everything from the latest healthcare apps to dynamic career opportunities through our different exhibition zones, while our sponsor-led sessions will explore key topics, such as personal well-being and new clinical interventions.’
Headline sponsor AstraZeneca will be holding a series of workshops focused on cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory diseases and renal and metabolic conditions, and our exciting list of exhibitors – including NHS trusts, universities, healthcare organisations and charities – will be on-hand to discuss career opportunities, professional development and all the latest technology.
Add in sessions on dementia and end of life care, self-harm in children and young people, wound care, sustainable healthcare, making hospitals neurodiversity friendly, safeguarding in mental health services, nurse-led digital innovation, the value of mindfulness and how to manage stress and burnout, and it’s safe to say there is something for everyone at Nursing Live.
Celebrate nursing and boost your well-being
If singing is your thing, why not join the Nursing Live choir? No previous choir experience is required, just an enthusiasm for singing, with those taking part coached by the award-winning Funky Voices choir who will perform live at the event on Saturday 11 November.
The winners of the RCN Nursing Awards 2023 will also be announced during the two-day event, at a ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral on 10 November.
With just a month to go until Nursing Live, there is not much time left to get your free tickets. Sign up now and help us enhance your career, boost your well-being and celebrate nursing and all the wonderful opportunities the profession has to offer.
