Web review: Age UK

Independent primary healthcare adviser Tina Bishop reviews website Age UK.

Getting older can be difficult for many individuals and their families. Age UK provides information and advice to help through those tricky times in life. It covers what is available and how to get it.

The website provides information about pensions and other financial concerns and there are trained advisors who can guide people through almost any situation such as:

  • Money matters: claiming benefits, wills, pensions and debt
  • Health and well-being: dementia advice, befriending, healthy eating
  • Home and care: getting help at home, paying for care, care homes, adaptations and more
  • Work and learning: your rights, computer courses, further education

A free national advice line, open 8am to 7pm 365 days a year, is available on 0800 169 2081. Every local Age UK offers an information and advice service and someone to talk to face-to-face.
