Voting to decide the next RCN president has opened and continues until 5 December.

There are four candidates in the running to replace outgoing president Dr Denise Chaffer. The election will be conducted via postal vote.

The candidates are:

  • Professor Julie Green
  • Tristan Griffin
  • Sheila Sobrany
  • Maria Trewern

The RCN president acts as an ambassador for the profession and represents the college to its members, stakeholders and the public in the UK and internationally. They also serve as a full member of the RCN Council, the college’s ruling body.

RCN Council chair Carol Popplestone said: ‘I would urge you to have your say on who you’d like to see represent you.’

Current RCN deputy president Tracey Budding was re-elected unopposed earlier this year and will start her second term of office on 1 January 2023.
