WhatsApp: is it safe for nursing students to share information?

The messaging app WhatsApp is a useful communication tool and can provide peer support for nursing students, but there are pitfalls to using it at university, during clinical placement and in group chats. Nursing Standard asks its panel of students, newly registered nurses and nursing lecturers for their advice to nursing students on safe ways to use WhatsApp without compromising professional standards or patient confidentiality.
