As a nurse your working life revolves around taking care of others so it can be difficult to make sure your own health and well-being has equal attention. It is well-known among the nursing workforce that nursing staff often suffer with back pain, work in an environment laden with stress, and that shift work and a lack of healthy food choices in healthcare settings can take its toll on diet and sleep patterns.

This supportive event has been designed to provide nurses with a safe space to put self-care at the top of their own agenda and to share ideas and self-care strategies that other NHS Trusts have put into practice to support the health and well-being of their staff.

It looks at what other healthcare organisations have done to ensure the health and well-being of their nursing workforce by organising events where nursing staff can have their blood pressure checked and be monitored for signs of diabetes. It discusses realistic changes that healthcare settings can make to ensure their nursing workforce can stay hydrated and have access to healthier food.  Rather than discuss nurse resilience, it looks at the use of body cams in clinical settings to reduce the stress of a potential physical or verbal attack from a patient.  The importance of good footwear and how a comfortable shoe can help reduce fatigue and burnout after a 12-hour shift is also on the agenda.

This webinar took place place on Thursday 22 June 2023.

This event was sponsored by Reveal, The Alexandra brand and Ezeez.
