As a registered nurse working in a community setting, I encounter a diverse range of patient healthcare needs every day. Holistic assessment and individualised care plans are essential to meet patients’ needs.
Implementing evidence-based nursing practice requires up-to-date knowledge and skills. This is achieved by applying research to practice in the form of clinical guidelines, policies and procedures. Guidelines allow nurses to implement safe current practice and are important in advancing nursing care.
