Entries now open for 2023 RCN Nursing Awards

Is it time you got your project or work some national recognition? If you have been working on something new or developing your nursing team, could this be the year for you to enter the RCN Nurse of the Year 2023?

Delighted to see applications from nurses and teams across the community

We at Primary Health Care were delighted to see the growth in applications from nurses and teams across community, general practice and public health arenas in last year’s awards, and are eager to see that success built on this year.

We were particularly pleased that 2022’s overall winner was Alison Bunce, who leads Compassionate Inverclyde, a growing and self-organising collaboration where the wider community tailors what it offers to meet individual need. Read more about her innovative and inclusive work here.

Share your nursing innovations and expertise

The awards are open to nurses, midwives, health visitors, students and nursing support workers to share innovations and expertise and to celebrate your contribution to improving care and outcomes for patients.

‘We will help you share your practice across the UK, so why not use these awards to share your effective and impactful practice with others? Don’t hold back’

Entries are encouraged from individuals and teams in 15 categories covering the diversity of nursing. New awards categories for this year include researcher of the year, digital innovator and workforce initiative. Do not forget about the community and general practice category. Why not stun the judges with what you are doing? We are waiting to hear your story.

Get recognition for your nursing achievements

The awards provide a chance to recognise your achievements and to celebrate the professions’ strength and commitment to local communities. UK nurses are increasingly feeling under pressure, so this is an amazing opportunity to share and be noticed for creative, innovative and outstanding care.

We will help you share your effective and impactful practice across the UK – so why not share your vision with others? Don’t hold back. The deadline for entries is 28 April.
