Kate Brown outlines the need for educational bodies to widen nursing students’ experience of the primary care setting
This article explores the challenges involved in providing practice learning opportunities for pre-registration nursing students in community settings, especially in home care. It suggests that a third-year learning opportunity immediately before qualification can make a difference to whether a student feels confident in applying for a staff nurse post with a district nursing team.
