Stay as a band 5 nurse or move up to band 6? How to decide

Band 6 roles are often seen as a natural step in a nurse’s career but they may not suit everyone. We look at the factors that nurses may want to consider when moving up a band – from the difference in pay to the shift into management and whether it would allow more flexible working. We review hybrid roles, portfolio working and opportunities overseas, and also consider how nurses can prepare for the shift from band 5 to band 6.
