Learning Disability Practice columnist nominated for an award

Learning Disability Practice columnist Wendy Johnson has been nominated for an award at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) awards.

The PPA awards are the most important celebration of world-class talent within magazine media in the UK, and I am thrilled that Wendy’s fabulous writing, displayed in her column Planet Rachael, has been recognised.

Planet Rachael is always thought-provoking and inspirational, but most of all, it is funny.

I read a lot in my job, and Wendy’s columns always have me chuckling over the trips, trials, triumphs and tribulations that she shares with her grown-up daughter Rachael, who has an autism spectrum condition.

Rachael signs off and approves each column, so I’d like to congratulate her and her mum for bringing a little sunshine into this editor’s working day.

I hope her columns, which always include little gems of insight, cheer up readers of Learning Disability Practice as much as they do me.

The PPA award winners will be revealed on July 9th 2015 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
