Readers panel: Does it matter if mature students are being deterred from applying for nursing courses?

With the end of the bursary and the introduction of fees for degree courses in sight, figures show a significant drop in mature student applications, with about 6,000 fewer mature students applying to start nursing courses this coming autumn compared with last year.
