Already surveys are highlighting concerns about negative psychological effects of the pandemic – notably stress, burnout and post-traumatic stress disorder – on the UK nursing workforce.

Now another, published by the RCN , shows nursing staff in the UK are still being asked to keep going in the face of intolerable pressure.

Evidence is also emerging that damaging experiences during the pandemic have increased the likelihood of some nurses leaving the UK register.
