The theme for the competition, which is supported by RCNi, is 100, in celebration of the RCN’s centenary.

The design can be created using any media, including pens, paints, collage or even digitally, and the winning entry will feature on the RCN's Christmas card for 2016.

Entrants must be aged between five and 10 years old on Saturday 31 December 2016, with the winner receiving a three-night holiday to Lapland in 2017 for two adults and up to two children.

Get creative

There is also a prize of £100 of high street shopping vouchers for teachers or leaders of youth organisations if a child from their class or group is chosen as the winner.

RCN centenary manager Sarah Abley said: ‘This is a very special year for the RCN and the competition gives children across the UK the opportunity to join in our celebrations.

‘We hope as many children as possible will get creative and send us some wonderful designs for our "100" theme.’

The closing date for entries is 9 October.
