An online education and training programme for nurses in India has been launched by RCNi as part of its efforts to support nursing worldwide.

The RCNi CPD Programme for Nurses, developed with online learning providers Impelsys, is designed to help nurses enhance their skills, stay up to date with best practice and meet professional development requirements.

Interactive topics include patient safety, infection prevention and children’s nursing

The resource begins in India with 30 continuing professional development (CPD) courses, covering topics such as patient safety, infection prevention, breaking bad news and children’s nursing. Interactive learning with case studies, images and tests are included in the programme, which is accredited by the RCN.

Impelsys chief executive officer and founder Sameer Shariff said: 'We are excited to partner with RCNi in this important initiative to provide best practice for CPD for all nurses to help in their career growth. We see this launch as an extension of our efforts in that direction.'

RCNi managing director Rachel Armitage said: ‘We are delighted to be launching the RCNi CPD Programme for Nurses in India in partnership with Impelsys. RCNi's vision is to be a lifelong learning partner for the nursing community around the world, and this is an important step towards achieving this.’

RCNi Learning includes peer-reviewed courses and tailored e-learning platform

The programme consists of peer-reviewed online courses from RCNi Learning, an e-learning platform for UK nurses, which have been selected for their relevance and tailored to meet the needs of the Indian nursing workforce.

RCNi senior nurse editor Richard Hatchett said: ‘I am immensely proud of the partnership working with our colleagues in India in adapting and testing our evidence-based modules to be applicable to the wider nursing community.’

A further 30 CPD courses will be released in India later this year as part of the partnership.
