The husband of a nurse who was found dead at the couple’s home in Leeds has been charged with her murder.

Staff nurse Eileen Barrott, who worked at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds, was found dead at the house in the Whinmoor area of the city on 15 August.

Husband due to appear in court

Her husband Mark Barrott was arrested near Elgin, Scotland, in the early hours of Thursday 19 August. He is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today.

Ms Barrott had worked for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for 25 years.
