A video of nurses at a UK hospital performing a greeting dance instead of shaking hands amid the COVID-19 pandemic has been viewed tens of thousands of times.

The World Health Organization has issued guidance urging people to avoid shaking hands and instead greet people with a wave, nod or bow, in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

A video of intensive care unit nurses Margie (left) and Sarah, from Whittington Health NHS Trust in London, performing the dance has been viewed more than 50,000 times since it was posted on Twitter on 13 March.

Whittington Health NHS Trust chief nurse and director of patient experience Michelle Johnson posted on social media that the clip made her smile at the end of a ‘really busy and challenging week’.
