Unstable bradycardia

Sam Jeffrey Nursing student, King’s College London and St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust

A CPD article improved Sam Jeffrey’s knowledge of cardiac conduction and the consequences of unstable heart rate

Bradycardia is a heart rate of less than 60 beats per minute with a normal sinus rhythm. In many cases, no clinical symptoms will be present and this is referred to as stable bradycardia. When symptoms are present, this is unstable bradycardia. The CPD article explained that this is determined by the patient’s cardiac output.
