Topical treatments

Hellen Wambui Staff nurse, Mildmay Mission Hospital, London

A CPD article enhanced Hellen Wambui’s knowledge of the anatomy of skin and therapies for various skin conditions

The use of topical treatments in my practice area is common, and patients with different skin conditions use these treatments. The CPD article described the function of the skin barrier, which prompted me to read more about the anatomy of the skin and its functions, topical treatments for different conditions and factors that influence absorption of these topical treatments.
