A new look for an evolving profession

Nursing Older People editor Lisa Berry welcomes you to the new website and journal
Lisa Berry

Welcome to your new-look Nursing Older People. As you go through the site, you will see it has been redesigned to create a fresher, more modern and reader-friendly feel, based on what our reader research told us you wanted.

All your favourite sections – peer-reviewed articles, news, analysis, opinion, and careers – are here. Some have been renamed or merged, and others added.

Our clinical section, previously known as art & science, is called evidence & practice, and has a summary to help you navigate the section. Resources has been incorporated into news, which is where you will find diary and events listings, and journal scan.

You will also find information to keep you up to date with new government policies, practice updates and guidelines.

As part of this process, all of our articles will appear online first at nursingolderpeople.com

As it develops, the site will offer you an intuitive, up-to-the-minute experience, with easier access to an archive of articles from all RCNi publications. There will be rolling news and interactive and audiovisual content, such as podcasts, interviews with authors, case studies and discussions.

I would love to hear what you think of the new format online and in print, so please email me with your views at lisa.berry@rcni.com

In the meantime, enjoy your July edition. My highlights are a feature on Geraldine Rodgers, winner of the Nursing Older People category at the RCNi Nurse Awards, and an evidence and practice article on gaps in domestic abuse services for older women.

Our next issue will be available in September.
