Uber is offering discounted transport or meals to NHS nurses over the Christmas period.

Between 23 and 27 December, health service staff can claim two trips worth up to £10 each, or order two meals from Uber Eats worth up to £10 each.

Promotion covers UK apart from Northern Ireland

A delivery fee applies for Uber Eats orders, and if a trip or food order is more than £10, the customer will have to pay the remaining balance.

The promotion is open to all NHS staff in England, Wales and Scotland.

Health service employees who wish to take up the offer must be over 18 years old and submit their NHS email address to Uber before 9am on Friday 20 December 2019 to receive their promotion code.

The code can be redeemed against two separate rides or two Uber Eats orders between 00:00am on 23 December and 11:59pm on 27 December.

‘This is our way of saying thank you’

Uber’s regional general manager for Northern and Eastern Europe, Jamie Heywood, said: ‘We all know someone who works tirelessly over Christmas to keep the NHS running, and this is our way of saying thank you.

‘For the third year, we’re offering NHS doctors, nurses and support staff a helping hand to get to and from work at Christmas time, when public transport is limited. This year, it’s fantastic to extend the offer to provide a free meal to help make those shifts a little easier.’
