Paul Grayson, who was charged with 20 sexual offences against patients and staff, admitted the charges at Sheffield Magistrates Court on 4 February.

He admitted 13 voyeurism charges, two counts of sexual assault, one count of taking an indecent image of a 17-year-old, and one count of sexual touching. But he denied three charges alleging he had made indecent images of children.

When Grayson was charged in December police confirmed that the ten counts of voyeurism and three counts of sexual assault relate to offences allegedly committed in the day case theatre unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, against five members of staff and four patients between 2017 and 2020.

Three of the voyeurism charges and one of the sexual assault charges relate to indecent recordings of three unidentified female patients. The patients were unable to be identified due to the nature of the recordings, police said.

Trial set for 7 March

South Yorkshire Police said the remaining seven offences were unrelated to Grayson's workplace when he was charged in December.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chief nurse Chris Morley previously confirmed Grayson had not worked at the trust since his arrest in December 2020, adding that the trust had informed the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the case.

Grayson will face trial at Sheffield Crown Court on 7 March.
