Royal honour: Crystal Oldman receives CBE from the Queen, patron of the QNI

Queen’s Nursing Institute chief executive made a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in recognition of her work in community nursing
The chief executive of the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) Crystal Oldman has received an honour from her organisation’s patron.
Dr Oldman, who was made a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June, took up her post in 2012 after 18 years of community nursing for the NHS.
Her honour was in recognition of services to the QNI and community nursing and was presented by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on 14 November.

Speaking after the investiture the former Buckinghamshire New University senior lecturer said: ‘I am absolutely honoured to have received the CBE from the Queen today.
‘We spoke about nursing in the community today and the 130th anniversary of the QNI this year.
‘Her majesty said she thought the QNI was doing very important work and it was wonderful to hear this from our patron.’
The chief nursing officer for Wales Jean White was made a CBE in the same honours list and had her own investiture last week
