RCN calls in cyber security firm over pay-offer petition ‘fraud’
Online petition called for emergency meeting to push for no-confidence vote on RCN’s leadership, in light of NHS pay offer in England – but college claims some signatures were falsified
The RCN has hired a cyber security firm to investigate a petition demanding a meeting to call a no-confidence vote on the college’s leadership.
The college announced it has appointed the company Dionach to look into the signatories of the petition, some of which – the college claims – were falsified.
The online petition called for an extraordinary general meeting to secure the no-confidence vote, following the announcement of a new pay offer for NHS staff in England.
The RCN said it was taking legal advice and has asked police to investigate.
Some college members have claimed their details had reportedly been used to sign the petition without their consent. The online petition was open to anyone with an RCN membership – or access to membership details – to sign.
