Nursing Live free event: what’s in it for your nursing branch?
Nursing Live takes place at the ACC Liverpool on 23-24 October and will feature inspiring and educational sessions for nurses in all specialties, as well as nursing students
The biggest event in the nursing calendar returns later this month when Nursing Live opens its doors on 23-24 October.
Returning to the waterfront at ACC Liverpool, the free two-day event will host speakers, workshops and talks for staff working in all branches of nursing.
Nursing Live has something for every nurse and student
The unique RCNi event will also count towards your continuing professional development and is designed for all nurses, regardless of experience or background, whether you work in health or social care in the NHS or independent sector.
So if you work in acute care, primary care, mental health, learning disability nursing, children’s nursing or if you are a student or newly qualified nurse, there is a jam-packed agenda full of inspiring and educational sessions.
Exclusive events related to primary care, children's nursing and working with older patients
Nurses attending the event can look up specific events relevant to their specialty on the Nursing Live website to ensure they do not miss out on sessions tailored to their interests.
Children’s nurses can learn about treating complex cardiac conditions with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital nurse Helen Walker, or join a learning lab on the child and adolescent mental health services (CAHMS) and the role of the nurse consultant.
For nurses working with older patients, nurse Emily Pimm will be leading a workshop on reducing loneliness and isolation in care homes, while Kelly McCarrick will share her trust’s experiences of nurse-led improvements in palliative care.
For primary care nurses, there are sessions on boosting cervical screening uptake and overcoming barriers to vaccinations.
Plenty of advice for emergency care nurses and students
Emergency care nurses can attend a ‘Spotlight on sepsis’ workshop, or learn about the fundamentals of electronic patient records and how data can impact patient care.
Nursing students can hear about simulated practice learning, along with guides on how to transition to a newly registered nurse and supporting mental health and well-being.
Most sessions are open to all attendees, regardless of their specialty, except a few sessions which are only open to registered healthcare professionals.
