NMC fee to remain at £120 for 2017-18, regulator confirms

The Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) annual registration fee will remain at £120 for the coming financial year, the regulator has confirmed.
The announcement came at the NMC council meeting on Wednesday, which included discussions on the regulator's 2017-18 budget.
The registration fee was last increased in 2015, from £100 to £120.
Pay rise
Budget papers also revealed that the numbers of nurses and midwives who had opted to pay the fee by instalments, an option introduced in June last year, was 'lower than expected'.
As of 23 March, only 50,300 nurses and midwives (7.3% of the total NMC register), pay by quarterly direct debit payments of £30.
The council meeting also heard that all NMC staff are set to receive a 2% pay rise in 2017-18,
