The Public Health England lead nurse in quality, mental health, learning disability and dementia was made an OBE for services to nursing and health visiting.

Ms Watts supported the delivery of the national health visiting programme a Call to Action, and the nursing framework Modernising Nursing Careers.

She has also worked with UNICEF on developing home visiting standards and practice in Eastern European countries.

Services to nursing

Ms Watts followed in the footsteps of learning disability nurse consultant Gwen Moulster, who received an OBE from Prince William at Buckingham Palace earlier this month.

South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust nurse Ms Moulster collected her award for services to nursing and people with learning disabilities.

Ms Moulster was also part of the team that won the Learning Disability Nursing Award at the RCNi Nurse Awards earlier this year.
