In the UK, the needs of families with babies and children are increasing , yet backlogs of care and unmet needs in health visiting services have been overlooked within a ‘baby blind spot’ in national policy.

All nurses in the community can take an active role in raising the importance of the first 1001 days and showcasing the value of health visitors (HVs), so the baby blind spot can be addressed and the rapid decline
