With nurses’ strikes very much on the agenda in the NHS for months now, it seems a good time to pause and look beyond the UK horizon.
The global pandemic has placed huge additional burdens on many nurses, but some employers and governments have not been responding with the necessary support.
The past 12 months have seen unprecedented growth in protests and strike action by nurses, as a last-resort reaction to inadequate responses by governments and employers to concerns about safe staffing and working conditions.
