Nurse whose grandson was on the Countess of Chester neonatal unit where nurse Lucy Letby worked describes the lasting impact
I have been a children’s nurse for 40 years, so as soon as I saw the first photo of my new grandson I knew something wasn’t right.
Delivered by emergency caesarean section a few hours earlier, he was wearing a hat and his eyes were closed and his face purple. He looked moribund. A few hours later, in the middle of the night, he was moved to the Countess of Chester Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
