There’s still time to submit your entry – but you’ll have to be quick!

There are only two more days to submit entries to nursing’s most prestigious awards, or nominate a nurse, nursing student or nursing support worker worthy of recognition.

The RCNi Nurse Awards boasts 12 categories celebrating the diversity of nursing, with the RCN Nurse of the Year being chosen from the category winners and announced at our awards ceremony in the middle of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

Let’s hear about the fabulous work you and your colleagues do

RCN deputy president and chair of judges Yvonne Coghill urged ‘phenomenal and wonderful’ nursing teams throughout the UK to submit their applications by 7 February.

‘Last year, I had the privilege of listening as our finalists described the fabulous work they are doing, how they are doing it and the impact they are having on patients. I felt such pride and at times was moved to tears,’ she said.

‘Most of these entrants were surprised to be finalists; they said they were ‘just doing their job’. Sharing your clinical excellence and compassionate care is something to feel confident about. Ultimately, when you do, more patients can benefit from what you are doing.

‘Hundreds of you have started your entries for the awards – you know you have something to share. We cannot spread the word about your work if you don’t tell us about it. So please, proudly finish and submit your applications by Friday February 7.’

She added that past two winners of the coveted RCN Nurse of the Year title were nominated by nursing or medical colleagues.

‘If you know a nurse or nursing support worker who is doing great things but is too modest to put themselves forward, please nominate them. It is a great way to thank them and acknowledge their hard work and commitment,’ she said.
