Emma Cowen is standing down and we now need someone to take her place. We have followed her progress from student, through to graduation and latterly in her position as staff nurse in the children’s emergency department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Brighton. This winter is a tough one and, if you follow her column, you will be aware of all the issues she has faced and has written about with such insight.

Get in touch

We will be sorry to lose her, but now need someone to fill her shoes. So, if you are interested in writing, have an awareness of topical issues facing students, children’s nursing and health policy, and can meet regular deadlines – we would like to hear from you.

To apply send a 300-word potential column to helen.hyland@rcni.com. Closing date is 23 March 2018. The winner will be selected by the journal’s editorial team.
