Research for Evidence-Based Practice in Healthcare

THIS IS a well thought out text book that will appeal to pre- and post-registration nurses, as well as a variety of other students within the healthcare setting.

The layout is accessible and makes the text easy to dip in and out of if the reader has a specific question that he or she wants answered.

The glossary at the beginning is informative as are the lists of further reading and references to related websites. The inclusion of a thorough section on writing research reports sets this text apart from many similar books.

The section on qualitative methods and analysis is thorough but I was left wanting more in terms of the section on statistical analysis. However, I understand the author’s reluctance to include too much information.

I would recommend this book, especially to novice researchers for whom it would serve as a comprehensive introduction to research.
