Your opportunity to thank a deserving nurse…

Patient’s Choice Award 2019
The Patient's Choice Award is an opportunity for members of the public to thank a nurse, midwife, health visitor, healthcare assistant or assistant practitioner who has made a real difference to their or a loved one's care.

The Patient’s Choice Award is supported by the Patient’s Association.     The Patients Association

How it works
Patients nominate their chosen nurse or team of nurses through our online entry portal. After the entry deadline passes in February, the judging panel will select a shortlist of up to five nurses who will be announced as the finalists for the award in April.

The winner is then decided by public vote, which will open in May. Details on the voting system will be released in April.

Why vote?
In 2018 the Patient’s Choice Award received more than 8,000 votes in total. The sheer number of votes alone shows how important this award is in achieving positive recognition for nurses nationwide.

As well as national public recognition, finalists will have their stories told through our nursing publications online and in print. All nominated finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards ceremony and, to ensure their night is a memorable one, they also receive complimentary accommodation at the awards venue on the big night.

Who can vote?
Votes are accepted from patients, colleagues, healthcare professionals and members of the public alike. You do not need to be a member of the Royal College of Nursing to cast your vote.

How to vote:
Details on how to cast your vote will be made available on this website in April. Voting will continue until June and the winner will then be announced at the Awards ceremony on Wednesday 3 July 2019.
